I am a Minnesota teacher who did not want to run for Congress.

But the thought of doing nothing while thousands of children were killed in Gaza made me sick. When I saw Angie Craig voted to give Israel 26 billion dollars in weapons, I was determined to help whoever her Democratic challenger was. When I saw no one was standing up to her in the Democratic primary, I knew I had to give Minnesota voters an alternative.

A Data for Progress poll recently found that 56 percent of Democrats believe Israel is committing genocide. As such, it seemed obvious to me that Democratic voters would want a representative who would not support such atrocities.

Angie Craig has millions of dollars at her disposal, much of which was given to her by Pro-Israel groups. I, on the other hand, live off a teacher’s salary and have all summer to talk to every Minnesotan I can. Suffice to say, we are running a David vs Goliath campaign here and the stakes could not be higher. All I ask of you is:

1.) Put June 28th in your calendar. That is the start of early voting. Find your polling place and VOTE as soon as possible. August 13th is the last date to vote, but you shouldn’t need that date, because you are voting EARLY, right?

2.) If you know someone who lives inside this map, let them know we need their help! Basically, if they live in south St. Paul or south of the Twin Cities, they can probably vote in this election. Tell them Minnesotans are rejecting the pro-war status quo of Congress, but we (average joe, working class Americans) cannot take back Congress without tons of hands on deck. Get word out any way you can: Post on social media, talk to your neighbors, call your mom. Everyone is needed!

3.) If you would be willing to sign up for updates and ways to help this campaign on the “Take Action” page, I would greatly appreciate it. I promise to not spam you with donation emails; money will not be the deciding factor of this campaign. It will be the collective willpower of Minnesotans fighting to end the violence.

My life outside this campaign

I met my now wife in college while studying International Relations. We were married this May, so our honeymoon has been postponed until after the campaign, but we both understand the importance of doing everything we can to stop this war! She has been unyieldingly supportive of my campaign, and is responsible for much of the graphic design you see on this website.

I am a teacher, like my mother, my grandfather, and some of my uncles. Growing up around teachers has instilled in me the importance of labor unions and a well functioning education system; both of which are currently in desperate need of additional support from our Congress.

In my pass time, I enjoy pickleball and camping. When I camp at a National Park, I am struck by how this easily could have been sold to a corporation to be monetized or torn apart for resources. In those moments, I am glad there was a time the federal government actually fought on behalf of working class people. Today, corporations are still harming the environment for their own profits, which I intend to halt and strengthen the EPA.
